iphone 5 baseband chip damaged(error -1 itunes) - GSM-Forum

hi.i have an iphone 5 that is curbed and after restore i got error -1 in itunes and phone is always in recovery mode now. i dissasembled the phone and the mainboard is slightly(easily) bended in the sim-holder area,near baseband chip. reheating with IR station over the baseband can solve the problem,because i don.t see any cracks or missing parts

It is not hardware problem. Make this:
1. Dowload iFath 1.5.6 (in attachment)
2. Open iFath and make dump SHSH.
3. Make custom frimware 6.1.3 with signed SHSH.
4. Restore from iTunes iPhone on custom frimware in DFU mode

How to make custom firmware ios6.1.3 (iphone 4s,5, ipad 2,3,mini) ?

I have the same problem, but when i heat up iphone back side to 30-40*C for minutes, the flashing proces finishes and iPhone turn on and start activation process.

But nowe, when its coold down, it doesn't recognize sim card.
When I heated up again, it recognized sim

So that mean it is working.

For sure it's BaseBand chip fault.. It under sim card slot on top board side.

I think that rehotting with HotAir in temp. 300*C should help for long time..

When i do this i will post the result in few days..

I rehotted MDM9615 and still is searching.. maybe full rebaling is required?? but i dont have tools for that and chip is lacked with black resin :/

Let try to resolder it rather than rehot. If not work, replace it.
