3GS OldBoot Fake Charging Issue
 

Hi Wites,
I got iPhone 3GS old boot. Got the problems with fake charging issue.
Any way I can get it fix pls?:)

Basically phone was water damaged

Basically I cleaned the phone very good and it booted up and everything.

However no IMEI.

So I tried using redsn0w to install 06.15.00 and it didnt work. It just skipped that "FLASHING BASEBAND DO NOT DISCONNECT" part.

So I decided to just install iOS 5.0.1 and let it flash to the new BB from the Apple firmware just to see if it works.

And it didn't.

In TinyUmbrella I didn't save the 4.1 SHSHs. The phone appears with a ? in TinyUmbrella.

So now I can't install 4.1 again and I am stuck in 5.0.1

I used redsnow 0.9.9.b8 and tried updaing baseband but get the same problem, it just skips that FLASHING BASEBAND DO NOT DISCONNECT step.

And the phone keeps rebooting every 2-3 mins or so.

Be careful to not short some coil to GND.:eek:

i have 3gs but its is in dfu mode i tried it to restore and jailbreak but its is showing 1601 error when restore what i have to do how can i solve yhis problem

I have another water damaged iPhone 3G 8GB. It has 2 problems.

First one is NO WIFI. So I rehot the area and then it went from NO WIFI to not being able to find a hotspot. Then I put it in the freezer for 30 minutes and WIFI works perfectly. Any idea what the problem can be?

Another problem was that it couldnt connect to iTunes or charge. However if the phone was OFF and I connected it to a charging dock, it would Power Up the phone but it wouldn't charge it or detect in iTunes. So I rehot around the USB Dock Connector and the problem was fixed however it doesn't always make a connection when I plug in the USB and I have to pull the USB out and plug it in again and it works. It maybe only works 50% of the time. Just wondering why that is happening. I am happy that it works at least.

Actually I noticed that it only makes a connection 50% of the time when plugging it into the computer. When I plug it into the wall charger it 100% makes the connection. Weird problem.

I used your advice to fix the USB no charge problem and it worked.

I am so happy to get this phone working.

I didn't think this would work. But those resistors/capacitors/inductors/or whatever they were actually were shorted to ground, so I just ripped out that SPA1 IC and it worked!

One question. Is that SPR1 AP important? Because phone works perfectly without it. Why did apple put it even in?
